Managing Strong Emotions With Mindfulness

Tue 15 May 11am-12.30pm – Presented by Josef Gorny

Strong emotions like anger, fear, despair, craving can afflict our lives; and joy, love, excitement enrich them. However, we don’t have the level of control over these profound states that we would like. We can resort to practices like avoidance, over-eating, compulsions, even self-harm to manage the afflictive ones – or we just give up. The practice of Mindfulness, backed up by recent studies in neuroscience, may offer an effective and non-destructive alternative. It is increasingly becoming the heart of many therapeutic interventions. This workshop will introduce you to the practice and help you work out if Mindfulness is for you.
