Get Up And Go
Regular exercise and social contact can help to increase your resilience to low mood, stress and isolation.
Get Up and Go is peer support walking program for ANU students offered by the counselling centre during teaching periods. It involves linking you up with another student who has volunteered to be a walking buddy. The two of you then arrange to go walking on a weekly basis. This provides opportunities for regular exercise and social contact which can be a great way to manage your health and wellbeing.
As the semester is drawing to a close, we are no longer able to accept new registrations for the Get Up and Program. We will re-open the program and run our next volunteer training workshop in 2010. This will be advertised here on the Counselling Centre website as well as via an all student email and posters around campus.
