The ANU Counselling Centre offers a free and confidential counselling service on campus to all currently enrolled ANU students, including ANU College students.
To make an appointment you can:
- visit the Centre which is located immediately above the Health Service on North Road (near the Coffee Grounds Cafe).
- telephone on 6125 2442 (ext 52442).
The Centre's opening hours are from 9:00am to 4:45pm weekdays, closed from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for lunch.
See Making an appointment for more detail on what we can provide.
There are daily appointments available which can only be booked on the same day. This can be a good way for you to initially access counselling or if your concern cannot wait for a standard appointment booking. To book a same day appointment:
- Call 6125 2442 from 9am;
- Attend the centre on the day. The best way to secure a 'same day' appointment is to attend the Centre from 8.55am.
- Please note, due to high demand, the same day appointments often fill quickly at the end of semester and during the exam period.
Please refer to While Waiting for strategies for managing your situation that you could try while waiting for your counselling session.
Staff can receive counselling from the Adviser to Staff (on campus) or by external advisers through the University's Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
The information you provide to us as health professionals is personal and private. Please see our Confidentiality and Disclosure of Information policy. If you are concerned about someone who may be attending counselling, please see Information for concerned family and friends.
